this album is an experiment in composition, especially regarding the relationship between visual and audio cues in improvisation. it was originally recorded in february of 2007. over the following months, friends collaborated spoken word bits and the whole thing was finally assembled in february of 2008.

musically, this album was directly influenced by black flag, otomo yoshihide's new jazz quintet, and the 1965 film adaptation of moby dick.
