This is the first in a series of EPs by Nigel Samways under the Gazing of the Owl-God title.

These musical episodes betray a fondness for the arcane and obscure, filtered though degrees of pyschadelic sci-fi textural intensity.

This music was created with extensive use of field recordings, placed both in the foreground and background of the stereo picture. Instruments and techniques used include an acoustic piano, woodwind, hand percussion, fleeting slide and acoustic guitar, analogue synthesizers, tv grabs, a phrase sampler and layers of cpu processing and assemblage.

Much material is culled from improvisation and chance happenings, but great care has been taken with the editing and sonic reconstructions, so get a pair of headphones and plug in!
