the first four tracks on this cd comprise "constructing enochian temples", an intensely dense and dark sludgefest epic that all of gnaw their tongues' fans will appreciate. the glossolalia theme seems to be musically expressed through the ornate music, often hidden beneath walls of intangible noise-sound. atypical of previous gnaw their tongues recordings, this work ventures into orchestrations and less-explored territories. following this assault of darkness is the widely-scoped mini-album "mary magdalene", a visitation of mythical spirits and forgotten visions. sick to the back teeth mutates a large range of sounds that flow through noise, synthesized orchestrations and industrial rock in this experimental homage to magdalene as a feminist icon, filtered through a heavily-romanticized surrealist narrative that drips like a fever dream onto stained glass.
this is a cool completely-black cd-r that comes in a dvd case with xeroxed artwork. there are limited quantities of the cherry-red edition, which will be sent to the first twenty customers worldwide. there are "unlimited" quantities of the white edition.
